Celeste burns bright on “Stop This Flame”

The stunning soul diva has slowly climbed up to “red hot” status, and she celebrates it with a funky banger

Celeste begins the decade by topping numerous “Ones to Watch” polls, hotly tipped to be “the next big thing”. With a big dollop of Amy Winehouse class, and none of Adele’s mystifying blandness, her success is certainly well-deserved. Her vocals are indeed wonderful, with an ability to go from coy, girlie singing to wall-shaking soulful belting-out, in a flash and with grace.

After a string of low tempo near-hits, especially the haunting “Strange” which brought her universal acclaim, she marks her reaching the verge of stardom by delivering a fiery R’n’B track that is guaranteed to fill up dancefloors. All of her qualities are in display, with much more glee than she’s ever shown. It’s time to join her party, for sure!
