Was Music Better Ten Years Ago?

It was a lot of fun revisiting these favourites, and reliving the memories that came with them. Most of them have really stood the test of time with flying colours. We might even be tempted to say that, on the whole, the quality of the music was slightly superior to today.

Most interesting, however, is the fact that everything seems like it could have come out this year. There are a lot of throwbacks to older sounds from the 1990s and even 1980s, but this is still going on today. Maybe this is why it sounds better than music of the recent years: we’ve been stuck in the same cycle of retromania since the beginning of the century, so it’s normal that the returns would be constantly diminishing.
