Caribou’s “Home” is groovy balm for the soul

After five years of absence, the Canadian producer/singer gifts us a warm electro-soul gem

God bless Dan Snaith, aka Caribou (as well as Daphni). For over ten years he has given us one understated masterpiece after another, without any fuss. They might be few and far between, but we know it always pays to keep your ear open for Caribou, and it’s invariably worth the wait.

For his first record in five years, Caribou builds a soul/dance hybrid around a looped sample of Gloria Barnes’ “Home”. It is as comforting and soothing as a big mug of creamy hot chocolate on a cold winter night. And you can dance to its smooth groove, while your spirit levitates. Fabulous stuff!
