Parquet Courts – Almost Had To Start A Fight/In And Out of Patience
Two NY-punk bombs for the price (and length) of one
They might be from Texas, but Parquet Courts have got their adopted NY’s punk sound locked down tight. For proof, they throw two Molotov cocktails at us, wrapped up together for a bigger bang. The first half has jagged guitar shards and Andrew Savage spitting out rapid-fire “why does life suck?” philosophy. Then a switch is flipped, and the rest of the track has him (barely) calming himself down, as the fiery energy still smolders. Smokin’!
