Beach House – Lemon Glow

Louder, edgier, yet still dreamy stuff from the masters of Dream-pop

While it’s unmistakably Beach House, this song finds them raising the volume and creating an immersive wall of sound. The whirring riff that underpins the whole thing is the first hint of change, then come the fuzzy guitars on the chorus, until crashing drums carry it all away by the end. Only Victoria Legrand, usually the band’s main weapon, sounds more delicate than usual, vying for space with all the rest of the instruments. Still it’s quality stuff as usual, so just bask in this citrusy glowing dream.
